For founders, teams and multi-passionate people who were told to pick one thing and didn’t.

I didn’t take the conventional path. It wasn’t for me.

I’ve lived in Argentina, New Zealand, Australia, Spain and the UK, travelled to almost 100 countries and built a business from scratch in English.

Keynote Talks

The Day I Stopped Asking

Stop waiting for permission to live the life you already know you want. You know exactly what you want. You have probably known for longer than you admit. But you are waiting for the right moment. The right people. The right sign. Someone to agree that it makes sense before you finally do it.Jimena shares the moment she realised that other people did not need to understand the decision before she made it.

Best for: Founder events, women’s leadership, university keynotes and Latino/Latina audiences

Too Many Tabs Open

You were not unfocused. You were just in the wrong room. For the person who has been told to pick one thing their whole life. The one with too many ideas, too many interests and too many directions at once. You were not scattered. The problem was trying to make yourself fit into rooms that only valued one version of you.Curiosity, different skills and seemingly disconnected interests can become an advantage.

Best for: Entrepreneur summits, career conferences, corporate learning and development, and creative communities.

You Were Never Meant to Fit In

Stop forcing yourself to fit the room. Build something that works for you.You spend years trying to become the version of yourself that makes sense to everyone else. You change how you work, the choices you make and how much of yourself you bring with you. When it still feels wrong, you assume you are the problem.Sometimes, you are simply trying to make the wrong thing work. The answer is not always to adapt more. Sometimes, you need to question the structure and build something different.

Best for: Diversity and inclusion programmes, founder communities, leadership offsites and multicultural teams.

Built Under Pressure

Work with what you have. Not what you wish you had. There is never enough of everything. Not enough time. Not enough money. Not enough people. Not enough information. But the decision still needs to be made, the problem still needs to be solved, and the work still needs to move.Resourcefulness is looking at what is available, working out what matters and finding a way forward. It is not something you either have or you do not. It is a skill. And it can be built.

Best for: Startup teams, high-pressure environments, operational leaders and under-resourced organisations.

The Real
Story

Jimena Serfaty working from a couch, casual candid portrait of the keynote speaker
That's me! ✌️

I'm Jimena. Most people call me Jimmy.

I grew up in Argentina being told to pick one thing. Settle. Be grateful. I didn’t listen.   At 22, I moved to New Zealand alone. Since then, I’ve changed countries, careers and plans more times than I can count. I’ve worked in hospitality, travel, operations and tech. I started a business. Then I built an app without knowing how to code.

None of it was linear. All of it was mine.

That is where the talks come from: the decisions other people did not understand, the things I got wrong and what I learnt from building a life that made sense to me.

HolaDear is a digital postcard app for the moments words aren't enough. Take a photo, record a message, pin where you are on the map, and send it to someone you miss.  Made for long-distance friends, families spread across time zones, and anyone who wants to feel close to their loved ones far away. Slow down, be present, and send something that actually means something. Seven weeks after Jimena started building it, HolaDear was accepted into the Web Summit ALPHA programme.

Planning an event?

Tell me who will be there, what you want them to leave with and the kind of conversation you want to create. 20 minutes. No pitch. Just a conversation about whether I am the right speaker for it.
